Then, in the latter part of 1990s, she began to act and dance professionally with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. After that, she relocated to Minnesota and was made a part of Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentarian film about beauty contests. Following her successful screen debut where she played an obnoxious but friendly contestant, Janet moved into Los Angeles where she began an acting career professionally.
